Teatro Fraschini
Teatro Fraschini is the municipal opera house located in Pavia, a small city in northern Italy. Founded in 1773, the theatre remains a cultural venue today, hosting a variety of performances including opera, dramatic theatre, dance, and comedy. LS was commissioned to design the visual identity for the 2015/16 season.

The identity for the 2015/16 season at the Teatro Fraschini was developed using a system of color and geometric forms chosen to abstractly represent the various elements of the theatre’s programming: Opera, Dramatic and Comedy theatre.

The visual identity combines traditional editorial elements—such as marbled endpapers and rigorous typography—with contemporary ones. All materials were produced using a specific color system applied through different inks: gold for institutional content, green for opera, blue for dramatic theatre and red for comedy.

The project has been included in the ADI Design Index, a catalogue showcasing the finest design products and services shortlisted for the Compasso d’Oro award.

In addition to the main season catalogue and individual performance materials, five opera librettos were produced by Fondazione Fraschini. Each libretto features the original lyrics and text alongside presentations of the authors, musical scores, costumes, and set design.
Each cover features a symbolic element drawn from the presented opera. The endpapers have a marbled paper effect, which serve as the unifying thread across all the opera librettos.
