Compact for Young People
2018 – 2020
UNFPA – United Nations Population Fund
IFRC – International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
Presented at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, the Compact for Young People in Humanitarian Action mobilizes institutions, NGOs, and youth networks to ensure that young people are active partners in humanitarian response.
The visual identity and communication system designed for the Compact express this shared commitment, transforming collective energy into a clear, engaging, and empowering narrative.
A stylized, multi-colored hand formed by five linear segments conveys openness, inclusivity, and collective action.
The logo embodies the Compact’s spirit of action and solidarity. The open hand symbolizes support and participation, while its five colored lines represent the Compact’s key actions—inclusive services, meaningful participation, strengthened capacity, dedicated resources, and reliable data—reflecting the vitality of youth in humanitarian action.
The Ringside typeface by Hoefler&Co. (↗︎) serves as the brand’s primary voice, combining versatility with a wide range of styles and tones.
A bespoke family of icons extends the Compact’s visual identity, translating each action into a clear and consistent graphic language that echoes the logo’s form and rhythm.
A bold and adaptable identity—built through typography, color, and iconography—gives the Compact a distinctive and accessible voice across print and digital platforms.
