MAN – Cavalli e Cavalieri Exhibition
2012 – 2013
MAN – Museo of Contemporary Art of Nuoro
The ‘Cavalli e Cavalieri’ exhibition at the MAN Museum is one of the most significant retrospectives of Marino Marini’s exploration of the equestrian archetype. LS Studio was responsible for the exhibition’s visual identity, layout and monograph design.

Curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Alberto Salvadori, the exhibition features over 15 sculptures and 100 graphic works, tracing Marini’s formal evolution from the classical composure of the work of 1930s to the dramatic and fragmented “Miracoli” of the post-war period.
This core narrative is complemented by ‘Post Scriptum’, a section featuring contemporary artists who reinterpret the equestrian theme.

The visual identity is defined by a striking blue colour scheme and the consistent use of the Fedra Mono typeface by Typotheque (↗). This monospaced font provides a contemporary, technical contrast to the iconic image of Marini’s equestrian statues. The colour scheme and typographic system unify the poster, invitations and other communication materials, creating a consistent graphic language.

Published by Silvana Editoriale, the catalogue is an exclusive monograph dedicated to Marini’s Cavalli e Cavalieri. Its distinctive blue cover and technical typography reflect the project’s identity, balancing a vast iconographic apparatus with critical essays in a precise, contemporary layout.
