Profile
Studio
LS is a communication design studio established in Milan in 2006 by Alberto Cantone and Paolo Ciampagna.
We partner with cultural, commercial, public and private institutions, NGOs and international organizations, working with them to communicate, inform and engage people by shaping visual identities, editorial projects, digital tools and environmental spaces.
Our approach combines context analysis, content organisation, and narrative development to deliver projects defined by clarity, impact and performance.
Beyond our professional practice, we are educators, lecturing at design schools—such as CFP Bauer, IED Milano, Politecnico di Milano and Isia Urbino—and public programs.

About this website
Nowadays digital infrastructure has become one of the fastest-growing sources of energy consumption worldwide. Data centers, networks, and AI models now account for an increasingly significant share of global electricity use, and their demand continues to rise.
While technological progress enables new forms of creativity and communication, it also requires us to be aware of its environmental impact.
For this reason, this website integrates energy-conscious design principles and offer a low-data version that reduces bandwidth, processing, and display energy requirements. A small gesture — but one that reflects a broader responsibility in how we design and experience the digital space.
The low-resolution mode is a technical option and a visual statement. The dithered images reinterpret digital imperfection as an aesthetic language — one that values reduction, clarity, and intent over excess. This suggests a different approach: lighter, slower, and more deliberate.

The full-resolution image size is 291 KB in WebP format.

The dithered, low-resolution version of the same image is 75 kB in GIF format.
DARK MODE
Optimized for low-light environments and reduced screen power consumption.
HI-RES/LOW-RES
Dithered images and lighter pages reduce data and energy use — an aesthetic and environmental choice.
